PEMA Madonna with Child Wood Statue

The PEMA Madonna with Child Statue is a beautiful hand-carved wooden depiction of the Blessed Virgin Mary tenderly holding the Christ Child.

Designed with the graceful, understated style for which PEMA is known, this Madonna presents Mary and the Infant Jesus in a warm and intimate composition. The flowing lines of Mary’s garments and the gentle relationship between Mother and Child create a peaceful devotional image suitable for both traditional and contemporary settings.

Each statue is hand-carved from wood in Val Gardena, Italy, a region renowned throughout the world for its generations-old tradition of religious woodcarving. The Full Color version is individually hand-painted by skilled artists, while the natural and stained finishes allow the beauty of the carving and wood grain to become the focus of the piece.

A Beautiful Image of Mary and the Christ Child

Images of the Madonna and Child have been central to Christian sacred art for centuries, expressing both Mary’s maternal love and the mystery of the Incarnation.

The PEMA Madonna offers a peaceful interpretation of this traditional subject. Its simple lines and gentle expression make it equally appropriate for a family prayer area, bedroom, home altar, Marian shrine, chapel, or church.

It also makes a meaningful gift for Baptisms, First Communion, Confirmation, weddings, Mother’s Day, Christmas, house blessings, and other important Catholic occasions.

Available Sizes

PEMA Madonna is available in multiple sizes, allowing the same design to work as a small devotional statue for the home or as a substantial church-size Madonna.

Hand-Carved in Italy

PEMA statues are produced in the Val Gardena region of Northern Italy, an area internationally recognized for religious woodcarving. Because these statues are individually carved and finished, natural variations in wood grain, coloring, and hand-painted details are part of the character of each piece.

Availability & Lead Time

Many PEMA statues are made to order and imported directly from Italy. Lead times can vary depending on the selected size, finish, current workshop schedule, and international transportation.
